We continue to be delighted that so many of the former club juniors continue to play for Bishops Cannings midweek and Sundays, and that so many of them are also playing all standards of league cricket – many for our partner club Potterne, plenty at other Wiltshire clubs (and for the county), and some even further afield.
Neil Clark captained the Potterne team that won their first West of England Premier League title – a major achievement. Our congratulations to Neil and Potterne.
Owen Alsop is now the player/coach at Burbage Cricket Club and helps out with the Wiltshire Youth County Cricket coaching programme.
And Tom Alsop established himself as the first choice wicketkeeper/batsman at Hampshire during the 2019 season, including an appearance at the last 50 over final to be played at Lords (Hampshire came second to an all-conquering Somerset team).
Most importantly, hardly a week goes by when one of the current Bishops Cannings’ playing or admin staff doesn’t bump into a former club junior still playing cricket somewhere else in Wiltshire!
